Designer Jocelyn Weatherbe started planning and planting gardens for her friends over 20 years ago and word of mouth has kept her busy ever since. Over the years Jocelyn has successfully designed and created dozens of urban gardens. After years working in the retail sector, primarily in home furnishings and décor, selling everything from bean bags and waterbeds to high-end leather furniture from Costa Rica, she then spent 10 years working with well-known interior designers, surrounded by great design and style. This experience gave Jocelyn exposure to and an appreciation for shape, form and colour along with an understanding of good traffic flow and space utilization, all of which bring added value to her small urban garden design and landscaping projects.

Jocelyn helped set up and then managed the garden department in a Canadian home and garden store for its first 2 ½ years of operation. Her responsibilities included designing display gardens for both the Metro and National Home shows along with giving “how-to” presentations on a variety of gardening and design subjects at the shows and in-store. She then worked for several years with smaller, independent garden centres, increasing her knowledge of plant material, design and landscaping, and now continues to design, plant and maintain the gardens of her clients under the banner Greenfingers. Jocelyn has often heard people refer to her as self-taught. “Not so,” she says. “I’ve been taught by hundreds of people.”

Our aim is make all your garden areas relaxing, easy to maintain and move through and suitable for their intended purposes.

We want to maximize your existing space and truly personalize it for you. Designing your garden is a collaborative process that allows us to translate your desires into reality, find creative solutions to provide your ideal outdoor living space.

We like to specify drought tolerant, disease resistant, easy care and native perennials, annuals, shrubs and trees - plantings that will attract birds and butterflies – then we add water to reduce the noises of the city and provide soothing sounds.

We have prepared a brief questionnaire that will help both of us design the best garden we can for you, one that is truly yours.

Planting/Construction:

During the design and garden creation process Jocelyn picks all the plant material specifically for your garden conditions and desires and supervises the addition of soil amendments and all planting.
           
If hardscaping and other specialty construction is required we bring in the experts. We have developed relationships over the years with the experienced craftsman, artists and contractors needed to complete a superior landscape.

This gives you the best of both worlds – the creativity and personal attention from a small business plus a wide array of experts for more extensive projects.
